Dan Freeman

A versatile musician and dynamic performer, Dan Freeman is a skilled trombonist as well as a lead and background vocalist. His journey with the trombone began in high school, continued through his military service, and has flourished throughout his professional music career.

While serving in the military, Dan was a principal soloist in the 7th Division Jazz Band and performed with the renowned Pyramid Band, where he had the honor of opening for Confunkshun. After his military service, he became the trombonist for the R&B group Lazztistics, where he wrote and arranged all horn parts, co-produced, and recorded selected tracks for their album at Colorado Sound Studios. He was also part of one of the final bands to play at the legendary Rainbow Music Hall.

Dan’s talents extended to television as well, performing with the Lazztistics for the Channel 4 world premiere of Women of San Quentin. Over the years, he has been a regular presence at some of Denver’s most iconic venues, including The Readyroom, Rod’s Place, The York St. Café, 1515 Market, and Pierre’s Supper Club. At Pierre’s, he fronted the Dan Freeman Band for two years, backed by the legendary Joe Bonner.

Dan’s impressive resume includes collaborations with groups such as Incidentals, Eugene Sings the Blues, and Mellow Moods with Dianne Reeves. Today, he continues to make his mark in the music scene with his current projects, V-10 The Power Band and Just Like That.
